JUNIOR HIGH

About our Junior High

Junior High at St. Mary Immaculate is a full of challenges, changes and many faith-filled and fun activities.

Junior High students are CHALLENGED in all academic areas to prepare for the transition to high school. All students study the Common Core Curriculum. Students are involved in many projects, practice many writing styles, read many novels and experience the history of our nation and world.

The academic year brings many CHANGES as students are introduced to new teachers and new subjects.  Junior High Students study Spanish in addition to the specials of Art, PE and Computers.

Highlights of our FAITH ACTIVITIES are our production of The Story of Jesus’ Birth in our school Advent Program and our Kids for Jesus program which is a school-wide program led by our junior high students.

Junior High students can expect several fieldtrips each year, with each grade level experiencing one special trip.  Our sixth graders go on an Outdoor Education Trip in the fall.  The seventh grade visits Springfield, IL in the spring.  The eighth grade year culminates in a 3-day, 3-night trip to Chicago.  !
